The summer internal show held every July is specifically structured to accommodate riding school and livery clients. Activities include dressage, show jumping, cross country, best turned out, fancy dress and handy pony classes. It is a great fun day and usually the weather is fine!

The Cowton annual Fun Show and Open Day takes place at the end of the summer break and regularly attracts crowds of over a hundred. Activities include pony rides, clear round jumping; photo shoots with the ponies and a jumping competition and riding display. The event is regularly well attended and is an ideal opportunity for all our customers to meet and mingle.

Pony parties are a popular way to celebrate a birthday: They involve having an hour’s activities with the school ponies playing musical games and obstacle racing. Mums and dads are encouraged to join in for fun and group photographs. Parties include party bags and present for birthday boy/girl. Birthday treks are also available for the older child and friends, although they often have more fun than the wee ones playing games to music for an hour!

The ‘Cowton Crew’ consists of regular customers, livery clients and staff who are more dedicated: They comprise of a team of riders of all ages, and are given the opportunity to perform on horseback in riding displays and activities: The ‘Crew’ produces a Christmas show every year featuring a colourful pageant of riding to music with various themes, often based around the popular musicals and films of the year: themes we have done include Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Calamity Jane and Mary Poppins.

*A great opportunity to dress up in strange and outlandish costumes! Kids love dressing up and performing! – so do the grown-ups!*

Polo, stick tag and ‘round up’ games; accumulator and open jumping classes, are a popular entertainment as well as an excellent way to display the school horses’ and ponies’ flexibility and skill.
